Each of us has our own internal experience.
We carry it within us from the moment we wake until our consciousness shuts down to rest. I leave the subconscious mind of the dream world for others to explore. Our focus here is on the internal experience within our control.
Direct your attention to the internal alignment or misalignment you feel within yourself. Consider how those feelings affect the quality of your actions and experiences.
We begin by acknowledging a self-evident truth:
Internal alignment improves the quality of our actions and experiences. Internal misalignment undermines them.
Notice we do not say outcomes. We do not control outcomes in our lives. We control our actions and much of our internal experiences but not outcomes. We trust that quality actions lead to quality outcomes.
The self-evident truth remains:
Internal alignment strengthens us. Internal misalignment weakens us.
Truth, as always, gives us direction.
No matter what you try to do on the outside, internal misalignment will poison it. You’ve felt this. You’ve seen it. You’ve done it.
If you want to be strong and not weak, then you must fix internal misalignment where and when it arises. If you want to get stronger and not weaker, then you must get and stay internally aligned.
Your unmet goals wait on the strength of action required to achieve them. Strength of action waits on internal alignment.
Tomorrow, I will explore fundamental ways we experience misalignment. But first, get your own experience.
CHALLENGE TODAY: observe your internal experience for the next 24 hours. How many moments of internal misalignment do you notice? Write down what you notice when you notice it. See if you can pinpoint the nature of each internal misalignment.
Brick by brick. Do the work.
