The speed and complexity of life and work can make the truth easily lost or ignored. It’s always been this way, it’s only amplified by our incredibly fast digital world. Since you can’t control the world, control yourself, and make the truth obvious.
We have no power to make something true. We have no special access to truth compared to anyone else. What we can do is read, observe, think, and most importantly practice what we understand to be true. We can make it obvious to ourselves and to those who see us.
That’s what this is all about, a pursuit to understand what is true and have the courage to act on it. These Daily Disciplines are my way, to whatever extent it’s valuable to you, to make the truth obvious. It’s the same on my social channels, whether it’s a Twitter post, an Instagram video, or a LinkedIn article.
The work is hard enough. The truth shouldn’t be. Be committed to the truth, not what you wish was true. When you make the truth obvious, your next step becomes obvious.
