The Unpredictable Impact of Success

Success is a volatile partner. On one hand it can lead to a positive feedback loop, fueling true confidence, and compounding wins on top of wins. On the other hand it can instill inflated confidence, blindness to evolutions in the environment and people, and refusal to change.

What’s the point?

Winning once does not naturally, progressively lead to winning twice. Victory today is not predictive of victory tomorrow. Success breeds success, but it breeds downfall just as often. Treat each day as its own test. Treat each challenge as its own proving ground. Treat each pursuit as a fresh opportunity to be deserving of the reward you seek.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
