If it’s a plain sight secret that most people never seriously commit and act in pursuit of elite, then it would benefit you to be aware of the major mental traps that block that pursuit for so many people.

Before you read the list below, use 10-15 seconds to take a deep breath, commit to self-awareness, and open your mind to recognize anything that fits you.

Why do people not even *TRY* to pursue elite?

  1. It looks and feels too hard

  2. Comfortable enough for now

  3. Fear of . . .
        A. Failure
        B. Success
        C. Mistakes
        D. Rejection
        E. Unknown
        F. Uncertainty

  4. Don’t know how

  5. Unsure which direction to commit

  6. Indecisive

  7. Self-doubt

  8. Don’t believe it’s worth the effort

  9. Want a guarantee before starting

  10. Don’t think you belong among the elite

  11. Unwillingness to detach from an existing relationship

  12. Need for someone else’s permission

  13. Need for someone else’s approval

  14. Existing sense of belonging in an average group

What I find fascinating about this list is these are all choices and controllable aspects of my mind and action. Anything on this list that feels familiar to you can be improved by you.

The personal value of overcoming these traps is worthy enough. However the strategic value is incredibly important and hyper-relevant. We’ll discuss tomorrow.

Do the work.
