3 reminders to combat feeling powerless

Do you ever feel like life is dictating you more than you are dictating your life? It's an unpleasant feeling and, unfortunately, all too common.

But that's just a feeling, not a reality. Life does not dictate you. You dictate your life. Nothing can change that, no matter how you feel.

Remember, just because you feel a certain way doesn't make that feeling accurate. Strong feelings feel true even when the perceptions and stories driving them are false.

So remove any false perceptions and negative stories that may still linger within you and replace them with truth, clarity, and confidence.

(I phrased these in the first person for you)

  1. I am in charge of my decisions. How I think and what I choose is entirely up to me.
  2. I am in charge of my actions. What I do and how I do it is entirely up to me.
  3. I am in charge of my interactions. How I interact with people and my environment is entirely up to me.

Remind yourself over and over and over again. Remind yourself daily. Remind yourself in normal circumstances. Remind yourself in extraordinary circumstances. Remind yourself when no one is looking. Remind yourself when everyone is looking.

Every choice. Every action. Every interaction.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
