Belief - Day 7: Committed to the future or to the past?

Efforts to maintain credibility can unintentionally create an anchor to the past. The commitment becomes to remain who you’ve been out of a misplaced sense of consistency. Pride reinforces the sense of achievement having never changed and always done it this way. That pride is misguided. The past is over. Your past self doesn’t want you remain the same. It wants you to be better than you were.

Your future self will be tested in ways you haven’t. Your future self needs skills you don’t have. Your future self wants you to be committed to who you’re becoming, not who you’ve been. Your future self wishes you would do the work now so you’re ready when you need to be.

Do the work.
