Doubt shows up when you’re uncertain about something emotionally important to you. It is every disappointing version of your imagined future.
The disciplined and the undisciplined both feel doubt. The difference is what they do with it. The undisciplined person is convinced by doubt to back away. The disciplined person uses doubt to display courage and step forward.
You can hide your doubt from everyone else, but you can’t hide it from yourself. It tests you from the inside better than anyone ever could from the outside.
What I love about doubt is it moves with me no matter what I accomplish. I see it as a never-ending reminder to focus on my mission and live worthy of my calling. If I give in to doubt, it’s not because it’s accurate, it’s because my focus was weak and my courage wasn’t worthy of my calling.
Every taste of doubt is a test of courage.
You get to choose your response. Even if you never got to choose your circumstance.
Embrace the chase. Do the work.
