It’s all in your head.

The most problematic part of trying to achieve a really big goal that will take a long time to accomplish isn’t the hard work. It’s the mental weight of knowing where you are in the process. The emotional pain of being so far from where you want to be. Or sometimes so close. The uncertainty of when and if you’ll ever get there. The self-doubt of whether the vision in your head is even possible.

Ask yourself right now, what can you do when your mind and emotions work for you and not against you? What could you already have done if you hadn’t allowed your internal programming to persuade you away from doing the work?

In the long run, your mental and emotional state runs the show. The disciplined person prioritizes their work from the inside-out. Because of that they accelerate when others slow down, work when others wait, engage when others avoid, and believe when others doubt.

Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
