Learn or Die

Adults don’t learn like kids. Kids learn naturally, organically, automatically. They almost can’t help but learn. It’s different for adults.

Little learning happens in adults until we make the disciplined decision to learn. Experience alone rarely elevates learning the way it does in kids. We must make a conscious choice.

Don’t passively trust your life experience to educate you. Intentionally activate your learning. The passive approach reinforces existing beliefs rather than challenging and testing their validity. It attaches to preferences over principles. It commits to opinions regardless of whether they are accurate or effective.

We all have a lot more to learn. Let’s be active participants in learning how to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
