Anything that lacks joy becomes a burden. That's why discipline must be joyful, not joyless.
People struggle with discipline because they approach it as a bitter medicine they must choke down. They dread it, gag on it, and can't wait to escape it so they can return to enjoying their lives.
Like bitter medicine, people recognize the value of discipline, even the need for it, but only do it out of absolute necessity and with a complete and utter lack of joy.
Where is the fun?! The enthusiasm for excellence? The excitement to do something meaningful, impactful, and beneficial for yourself? Or is all that now exclusively reserved for what entertains us?
We must not associate more discipline with less fun and less discipline with more fun. We cannot allow ourselves to believe that poisonous lie. That's how average people think and what immature people do. Buying into that belief will distort your mind, spread its poison, and infect your life.
The time of boring, rigid, joyless discipline is over. It's time to make discipline fun again!
The time is now. Do the work.
