  1. Write the standards you truly want to live on a piece of paper. Get it out of your head where you debate it too much. Keep that paper near you as much as you can.
  2. Check with yourself that you really approve of what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. Don’t blame someone else for you not approving of yourself.

  1. Acknowledge that if you met every human on earth, 99% of them wouldn’t approve of something about you. Everyone is different. They value different things for their own reasons.
  2. Make a clear and permanent decision who gets to set your standards: you or everyone else? Not making this decision is to choose everyone else. In which case don’t complain. Accept, embrace, and enjoy living the standards they decide for you.
