Simple steps to start slowing down self-judgment.

  • See yourself as a work in progress. No matter how good or bad it gets, you’re never a finished product. Don’t skip past this bullet as “obvious”. You can’t afford to hustle past obvious things you’re not doing well.
  • Accept that you are a mix of things that are working well and not working well. And you always will be. There are simply too many variables in life, emotions, relationships, dreams, opportunities, and randomness to ever get everything right. No one does, not even you.
  • Don’t associate lack of judgment with lack of awareness. You don’t need to judge yourself in order to know yourself. Be accountable for who you want to be, not critical of who you should be. Accountability takes responsibility through action while judgment just throws opinions and criticism.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.
