One of the best things you can do for yourself is commit to a deeper level of awareness and skill in your emotional life. Everything affects, and is affected by, emotions. Yours, theirs, and everyone’s. Emotions are responsible for what makes life worth living and what makes living messy.
Something woven so thoroughly into the most essential experience of our humanity and value is worth a lifetime of your best effort. I don’t believe I need to convince you of that. But I may need to remind and encourage you to get to work.
Understanding the emotions you’re feeling and why you’re feeling them is the starting point. Not just for your overall life experience but especially your ability to be the kind of productive person you want to be.
