Stop Being Your Worst Critic!

Self-judgment takes on different forms in different situations. Today I’d like you to think personally about the habit of self-judgment and how it expresses itself in you.

Self-doubt is judgment that shows up before you do something, sometimes as you’re doing it. Self-criticism is judgment that shows up after you’ve done something. There’s also self-minimizing for perceived deficiencies and self-punishment for perceived shortcomings.

Allow me to be direct with you here because clarity like this is gold. You don’t need to be one of your critics. You absolutely don’t need to be your biggest critic. You can’t afford to be. Make the personal choice to eliminate self-judgment in all its forms, especially the ones you engage in most often.

It’s not hyperbole to say this is a life-changing choice either way.

Be your biggest cheerleader, your loudest encouraging voice, your strongest supporter. You can still be your honest observer. You can still be your reliable realist. Just eliminate the self-judgment and replace it with the powerful combo of self-awareness and self-confidence.

Be accurate with yourself and kind to yourself. Be real and be helpful. Lift yourself up rather than cut yourself down. Be the first one to be on your side.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
