The disciplined pursuit of . . . imperfection?

Nature creates and it destroys. It’s full of the massive and the microscopic, of perfect fits and random errors, of life and death. Nature is far from perfect yet we marvel at its ability and are in awe of its beauty.

Are our lives much different? Do we not share that in common with nature? But our tendency is to focus on our imperfections, our mistakes, and doubt our ability and hide what we see as ugly.

You have the power to create and to destroy. And you’ve done both.
Your life is full of the massive and the microscopic, of perfect fits and random errors, of life and death.

You are far from perfect and, like nature, you don’t need to be. It’s through your collective imperfect effort of cause and effect, trial and error, setbacks and achievements that you create a worthy and beautiful life.

Trying your best will give you incredible experiences and painful ones too. Competition will leave you a winner and also a loser. Love will bring you joy and no small amount of sorrow. Success will deliver lifelong friends and envious enemies.

Recognize the nature of life and accept it. Embrace the mess. There is no painless path. Imperfection is the only way through. Don’t try to avoid it. Use it.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
