There’s only one way to escape criticism

Becoming the best version of you is not without cost. Heavy cost. Personal cost. Mostly it comes in the form of outside opinions, criticism, and resentment.

Every better version of you that could exist also brings on more criticism than the current version of you receives. Pay attention to who gets criticized on TV, social media, radio, and the internet. Almost always leaders, producers, and performers at the top of their field.

The only way to avoid criticism is to be unseen, unheard, and unknown. That’s the path taken by everyone who chooses to settle in the mountain of average. Some stay there by passive acceptance. Others stay there by active choice to avoid being exposed.

Decide whether you want to be elite or whether you want to avoid criticism. It’s one or the other. Choose carefully and confidently.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.
