What is a dream without discipline?

Consider your aspirations for a moment.

Your goals. Your dreams. Your vision for the direction and purpose of your life from this day forward. Notice the potential you undeniably know is within you. Some of it still sits dormant. It remains untapped because you know it but don’t believe in it.

Visualize the excellence you want to create. Envision the fulfillment you want to experience.

  • What do you want to accomplish?
  • Why do you want that?
  • How important is it to you?
  • What do you intend to do?

  • What do you want to experience?
  • What does that look like?
  • What does it feel like?
  • How will it happen?

You can pursue those aspirations with or without discipline.

Discipline is not required to try, though it may be to succeed. If your vision is to become a reality, it might demand discipline, but that’s what you need to figure out. One way or the other, you will discover the truth of this.

The quality of your discipline affects the quality of your effort, but it doesn’t prevent you from pursuing your vision.

You are free to find a better vehicle than discipline to help you reach your goals. They are your aspirations, after all. You are the one who must decide how to pursue them.

Know the choices you’re making. Know why. And consider the immediate and eventual consequences.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
