Withholding forgiveness creates a weight you have to hold.

Forgiveness only requires one person — you.

Apologies are not necessary. Relationship repairs are not required. The other person does not need to be involved. Forgiveness is a solo act. What you communicate to anyone else is another matter. How you treat the relationship is a separate issue.

Keeping a grudge and refusing to forgive creates a weight that you have to hold. You don’t have to forgive, but you can choose to forgive at any time. You may want to release the burden for yourself.

Do the work.
