When you’re down—feeling down, knocked down, beat down, broken down—two words matter more than any others: Get up.
Not tomorrow. Not when you feel better. Not when circumstances improve. Now.
Get up doesn’t mean you’re not hurt. It doesn’t mean you’re fine. It doesn’t mean you didn’t get knocked down.
It means you refuse to stay down. You have too much to give and too much to gain. You’re too valuable. You’re too strong to stay down.
We all get beat. We all fall down. That’s the truth. And the pain is real. Sometimes, the damage is, too. That’s life. That’s what happens when you’re actually trying, reaching for something of significance.
But staying down? That’s a choice.
You only have to worry about getting knocked down if you’re unwilling to get up. Getting knocked down doesn’t matter if you’re always going to get up. So, go get knocked down. And get back up.
Close your eyes. Breathe down into your belly. Feel the air fill you. Feel the pump and pound of your heart beating in your chest.
Those are proof you’re still here. Still alive. Still capable.
Now open your eyes.
And get up.
