Thomas Jefferson said, “In matters of principle, stand like a rock; in matters of taste, swim with the current.”

I’ve followed Jefferson’s aphorism for almost two decades, and it has never failed me. Adhere to substance firmly. Adjust style flexibly to serve substance. Think of it as the art of living well.
