We all have our arenas in life.
It’s your marriage, parenting your kids, or life after divorce.
It’s your health, your career, or your spirituality.
It’s sales, entrepreneurship, or transitioning into a new role.
It’s coaching, teaching in a classroom, or playing a sport.
Maybe it’s retirement.
Whatever the arena, however big or small, consider these questions:
- What role or purpose does this arena play in my life and how much do I care about it?
- What does “success” look like for me in this arena?
- What are the core principles that I believe drive that success?
- How well do I live those principles? And how consistently?
- How often do I look for ways around living those principles with discipline?
- What will happen if I’m undisciplined in living those principles?
- Whenever I don’t live those principles, what excuses do I make to justify it to myself?
- What is the one principle in this arena that is most important for me to live with more discipline?
Pick one arena. Answer these questions honestly. Then act on what you discover.
Event + Response = Outcome. Do the work.
