You don’t need to wait until things go wrong to make a change, though that’s what many people do. You don’t need to wait until you reach a breaking point or for the pain to get too intense to ignore.
You certainly can, though. Default acceptance of the status quo, even if that status quo is deeply uncomfortable, is more common than the courage to make a change.
What you need to do is identify a meaningful reason to change or a meaningful reason to stay the same.
If there’s something noticeably wrong, you’ve already waited too long.
Change by choice with a clear purpose. The alternative is the status quo until you’re forced into change by external pressures or internal pain.
The time is now. Do the work.
