Convert this cliche into reality

Everything in life can be clearly organized into two categories:

  1. "This is up to me."
  2. "This is not up to me."

What someone else values is not up to you.
What you value is up to you.

How someone else thinks is not up to you.
How you think is up to you.

What someone else believes is not up to you.
What you believe is up to you.

How people treat you is not up to you.
How you treat people is up to you.

What someone else prioritizes is not up to you.
What you prioritize is up to you.

How people live their lives is not up to you.
How you live your life is up to you.

People tend to respect the cliche of what is and is not up to them while disrespecting the reality of it.

What everyone else does with this is up to them.
What you do with it is up to you.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
