Daily life is your best training opportunity.

Let’s take a closer look at our theme for the year: Everything is training for something.

What it means:

  1. Every thought, emotion, decision and action reinforces and strengthens a behavior pattern.
  2. Productive behavior patterns are built through repetition. Unproductive behavior patterns are built the same way.
  3. The patterns you develop now are the source of your production later.
  4. Behavior patterns (thoughts, emotions, decisions, actions) in one area have a significant impact on behavior patterns in many seemingly unrelated areas.
  5. Every moment matters, only the scale of consequences change.

Why I chose it:

Many reasons but I only one needed one . . . There are issues you haven’t solved, goals you haven’t achieved, desires you haven’t fulfilled, and opportunities you have realized simply because you haven’t trained or trained well enough. That’s my driving mission here with you this year.

How to apply it:

We of course will focus on frameworks, principles, and nuances of this all year long. Start today with an easy first step: observe your thoughts, emotions, decisions, and actions in each setting today from the moment you read this to the moment you go to sleep. In each different setting silently ask yourself these three questions:

  1. What am I training into myself?
  2. How is this training?
  3. Why does it matter?
  4. Where else does this apply?

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
