People get persuaded by emotion, not reason. Logic does not move people. Logic does not change minds. Logic does not drive action. Emotion does.

Logic and emotion are not always in opposition, but when they are, how you feel takes charge. Thoughts and reason follow emotion’s lead.

Emotion compels us to ignore facts, manipulate reason, and justify any position, no matter how irrational. But emotion can also move us to keep faith, continue against all odds, and trust our path through uncertainty.

That is what makes emotion so valuable and powerful, dangerous and wonderful.
And discipline so necessary.
