Entitlement is nothing new, it’s just today’s buzzword.

Have you noticed that people are quick to point out someone else’s entitlement, but no one ever thinks they suffer from it? Funny how that works.

Most discussions I hear about entitlement are useless. Actually they’re worse than that. They’re shallow. They’re judgmental. They’re hurtful. Uninformed opinions are being presented as facts. False narratives are being explained as realities.

We’re going to do it differently this week. We’re going to discuss entitlement honestly, evenly, and without conveniently labeling a people group we don’t understand or don’t like.

Entitlement is real, but it’s not new and it’s not a millennial issue. No one is free from the gravitational pull of entitlement. Let’s focus on keeping it out of our own lives instead of projecting it onto entire generations.

Let’s move away from judgment and toward responsibility.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.
