Events aren’t in your control, but so many things in your circumstances can be influenced in a meaningful way.

  1. If you want to get in shape, you can remove any temptation of unhealthy food from your house.
  2. If you want to use your time better, you can cancel most of your cable and streaming services.
  3. If you want to bring more positivity into your life, you can stop spending time with anyone who gossips about other people and complains about their life.
  4. If you want to get more things done, you can stay up one hour later and get up one hour earlier.

These examples may or may not be right for you. You certainly don’t have to do any of these. But knowing you can do them is important. Search for applications that fit you and your life.

Just because you don’t control your circumstances doesn’t mean you can’t influence them in your favor as much as possible. Look for ways to increase your influence by leveraging what you do control in a wild world you don’t control.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
