Functional Humility

The difference between conceptual humility and functional humility is action. Plenty of people say the right things about humility. People who have functional humility act on it.

This humility is real, practical, and observable. It sees the truth, hears the truth, and acts on the truth. It doesn’t hide from what’s painful. It doesn’t pretend and it doesn’t posture to look good.

Brian Kight Functional humility

It goes all-in on what works. It goes all-in on avoiding or improving what doesn’t work. It is quick to acknowledge mistakes and quick to correct them. It is both completely honest and completely confident at the same time. I have no use for conceptual humility. I have every use for functional humility.

Do the work.
