I have written these Daily Discipline emails every weekday for five consecutive years.
Since starting with zero subscribers and earning my way up to 35,000+, I have learned a lot about how people think of discipline and what it takes to get better. It's much easier than most people think. The most significant need I see for most people is a change in how they think about discipline, specifically how they feel about the process of becoming more disciplined.
Here are three basic steps I recommend for anyone who wants to launch (or re-launch) their journey into discipline:
- You don't have to go full Navy SEAL. Just focus on improving your discipline piece by piece. Everything counts.
- Commit to finding 3-5 "moments of discipline" to win each day. It can be anything involved in your day.
- I encourage you to start with the less emotional areas of your life. It's easier to do the work of learning without having to wrestle with your deeper emotions until you've built more skill and confidence.
Wherever you are in your journey of personal discipline, imagine the progress and impact of continuous effort for six months on these three simple steps.
Answer the call. Do the work.
