If you love someone, you don’t make them listen to you complain

Do you want to hear people complain? Would you like to experience more or less complaining from people in your life? Friends and loved ones will complain and expect you to listen, because that’s what you’re “supposed to do” if you care about someone. For too many people, it’s not an occasional thing. It’s a daily occurrence. A sense of obligation may cause you to endure it, even feel a loving duty towards it, but it won’t make you enjoy it.

One of our biggest jobs in a caring relationship is to make the act of love a choice to enjoy, not annoy, to bond, not bore, and to connect, not complain.

Do the work.
