While most people see opportunity and adversity as opposites, I think about them differently. I don't believe they are opposites at all.
Opposites would suggest that when one is happening, the other isn't happening. We know that isn't true. In every adversity, there is opportunity to gain. In every opportunity, there is adversity to fight. They are not opposites.
In most scenarios, opportunity and adversity are the same things seen from different perspectives. Adjust the story in your mindset, and opportunity is interchangeable with adversity. Some of the most significant opportunities are found through adversity and because of adversity. Some of the most intense adversity is created not just during opportunity but because of opportunity.
I am experiencing this in my life right now. I stand at the threshold of a new mountain I aim to climb, an unknown chasm I intend to cross. Now, the decisions I am making have thrust me forward and upward into a new arena, one full of incredible opportunity and intimidating adversity.
