You may be tempted to hear this as a cliché but I’ll say it anyway: you always have a choice.
In each moment of each day you are gifted with, you always have a choice. What you do with that gift and what choices you make set the defining shape of your life. Again, I don’t share this as a repetitive cliché but rather as a piercing reminder to your soul and encouragement of your heart. Choose. Choose every aspect of your life with purpose. Leave no stone unturned.
You may not see all your options or you may just not like them, but you have a choice. Sometimes when you don’t like the options among your choices, you don’t make a choice (which is a choice, of course).
At times you will need to make difficult choices among unattractive options. You will be faced with the adversity to make hard choices and do what is necessary. Like a pearl in an oyster or a diamond in a lump of coal, it’s through the pressure of adversity that you create your best opportunity.
Everything is training for something. Do the work.
