React less. Decide more.

This is a choice you can make, once now, and again each time you receive feedback. Less reaction. More decision.

It’s not about feeling less emotion. It’s about focusing on the decision you want to make in the midst of the emotion.

How you feel matters. Don’t try to act like your emotions don’t exist. But they’re not someone else’s responsibility. Your emotions are your responsibility. That’s the personal and private side of feedback.

What you decide to do with the feedback is the personal and public side. Because while your reaction and decision is a personal choice, people will experience how you react and what you decide.

Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
