Stop using this empty quote: “Get comfortable being uncomfortable”.

OK Friend . . . There’s no need to be romantic about “grinding”. It isn’t sexy. It isn’t cool. And it’s not virtuous. Just choose clear standards and work to exceed them every day. Embracing discomfort has become a hollow phrase and social signal among too many groups.

You’ll never get credit or awarded for being the most uncomfortable. You’ll get burned out. You want to make the most progress, be the most productive, and be the happiest. Not the most run down.

Sure, discomfort is often part of the process. I teach discomfort only when it’s required. But it’s not the objective and I don’t want you to feel it unless it’s absolutely necessary. Focus on living your standards with consistency and raising them to reach new levels in the areas important to you. Embrace that.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.

PS - Happy 4th of July Friend! I’m blown away every day by your willingness to show up, read, share, and do the work. What started as a small effort by me has grown into a massive community and exciting new venture thanks to you! Know how much I appreciate you.
