Lack of honesty with others is easier to identify than lack of honesty with yourself. The private, personal lies you tell yourself that no one else hears are more dangerous than anything you could say to someone else.
The lies we tell ourselves cut deeper than the lies we tell others.
How we deceive ourselves causes more damage than how we deceive others.
The truth we hide from within ourselves creates more issues than the truth we hide from others.
If honesty and integrity are important to you, prioritize them from the inside out. Your first responsibility is to establish them in your relationship with yourself. Then and only then can you bring them to your relationships with others.
