This Is The Face Of Disappointment

Sometimes the only thing you get to decide is how you will respond to a fate you didn’t get to choose. When the immediate outcome is out of your control, it doesn’t mean your decisions don’t matter. Instead, it means your choices now matter toward a different aim.

Sometimes you cannot change an outcome, but you can significantly change the impact and consequences of that outcome. Pull lessons from the painful loss. Find gratitude from the aching grief. Create focus from the bitter frustration.

Do not allow what you didn’t get to decide to distract or dishearten you from what you do get to decide. There’s always something next. In the face of disappointment, choose your response with discipline.

Answer the call. Do the work.
