You heard yesterday’s message, right? If you want to swim, you have to get in the water.
Now, maybe you’re thinking, “I don’t want to swim. I’m content outside the water.” A lot of people talk themselves into this mindset. While that’s a fine attitude at a backyard BBQ, it fails as an approach to life. And I’ll tell you why.
Because in life, water is everywhere around you. It separates you from everything of value. You can’t walk around it. There’s no hidden bridge. There’s no boat or plane that will carry you to your life’s desires.
Whatever you want, you must earn by swimming those waters. Whatever you want to protect, improve, or change requires swimming those waters. Everything is on the other side of water you must swim.
If you decide you don’t want to swim, you cut yourself off from the things you desire most. If you stay content outside the water, the important things in your life begin to drift away. Slowly at first. So slowly you hardly notice. Until they sink out of sight.
The point is that life happens in the water, not outside of it. The water is life. If you’re not swimming, you’re not living. You’re waiting to live. Or waiting to die. But you’re not living.
