Virtue and skill are mandatory requirements on the chase to elite. One without the other is common and therefore average. There are plenty of virtuous people without enough skill and plenty of skilled people without enough virtue.

Virtue is the choice to tolerate pain, discomfort, and uncertainty. Skill is the choice to get better because of it.

The first determines if you’re willing. The second determines if you’re deserving.
