What is conceptual is useful, if it gets you into something functional

A conceptual idea reads great in a book, but you don’t actually do it. A conceptual principle sounds great in a quote, but doesn’t guide your day-to-day actions.

A functional action gets done. You do it, measure it, assess it, and improve it based on the real outcomes it produces. Functional principles drive personal behavior. They are the standard and guide for day-to-day actions.

What is conceptual is useful, if it gets you into something functional. Otherwise you’re caught confusing ideas for action. You don’t truly understand something unless you do it. Ideas aren’t worth much alone. Execution is everything.
