Who decides the standards for excellence?

Opinions on excellence will vary. Luckily, excellence neither cares nor waits on opinions.

Excellence operates beyond the reach of opinion. It exists independent of anyone’s awareness or approval. Unseen and unrecognized excellence is no less excellent than that which receives attention and celebration.

Excellence is in the act, the effort, and the impact. How anyone chooses to see it and what they choose to think of it is up to them, but it doesn’t alter the nature of the excellence.

No one needs to hold a favorable opinion for excellence to exist. No one needs to hold any opinion at all. Opinions don’t decide greatness. It is self-contained and self-reinforcing. The excellence no one knows about is still excellence.

Excellence belongs to nature, to humanity, and to our souls. Not to opinions. Go put excellence into the world.
