“You vs. You” is a Misguided Mindset

“You vs You” might sound like a good mindset, but it creates unnecessary internal conflict.

You are not your opponent. Your opponent is trying to stop you from accomplishing your goal. You are not trying to prevent yourself from achieving your goal. You are trying to push yourself toward it.

You want to become whole and aligned within yourself. Do not divide yourself into competing parts.

You compete with opponents who want the same goal as you. They try to stop you from achieving it because they want it for themselves.

In a game, you want to win. Your opponent also wants to win. If you win, they lose. If they win, you lose. You compete to win.

It is not “You vs. You”. It is “You vs. The Things Trying to Stop You.”

Your weaknesses, struggles, or past versions of yourself are not the opponent. They are the parts of you that you need to improve to defeat your opponent.

Don’t fight yourself. Connect with yourself. Fight your opponent when you must.

Don’t compete with yourself. Discipline yourself. Push yourself. Compete with your opponents when you must.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
