Being a student doesn’t end in youth. It’s for life

When you were a child, adults in your life worked hard to teach you about choices and consequences. When you were a teenager, the situations got more intense, but choices and consequences were still the primary lesson and the best teaching tool. It’s the same in our lives today, choices and consequences. It’s unchanged from childhood, even though many adults, like kids, just want a break from it. People get tired and broken down by the relentless requirement of responsibility.

You don’t get a break. So let’s keep getting better. You get more choices and the consequences they bring. So let’s see our own behavior clearly, what’s working and what’s not. Let’s enjoy this work between where we are and where we’ll end up. Let’s make the journey fun and the destination, wherever it leads, worth it.

Understanding choices and consequences has always been the single most important thing for young people to learn. Being a student doesn’t end in youth. It’s for life. Choices and consequences is for adults to learn, and relearn, as many times as it takes.

Do the work.
