Desires are tricky. We can't directly choose our desire or lack of desire.
If you feel like pizza, you feel like pizza. If you don't feel like working out, you don't feel like working out. If you feel nervous, you feel nervous.
We don't have direct control over the presence or absence of any particular desire. But we always have control over how we respond to what we feel. We choose how we respond to our desires or lack of desires.
When you feel like pizza, you can eat steak and veggies. When you don't feel like working out, you can go work out. When you feel nervous, you can act with courage.
Desire keeps your life moving forward, but you don't have to obey every desire. Nor will you desire everything you must do in life.
Desire is the engine. You are the driver who steers the wheel and steps on the gas or pushes the brakes.
Brick by brick. Do the work.
