One of the best things you can do for your life is simplify the things in your control. There’s no doubt the things beyond your control are gaining complexity. Allowing yourself to be swept up in the current of complexity, by willing choice or autopilot habit, is a reliable way to end up lost at sea.
Search for simplicity with reliability, longevity, and value that benefits not only you, but those around you. Things like compassion over anger, even when anger feels justified. Courage over fear, even when fear fills your mind. Purpose over entertainment, even when entertainment is attractive.
These are just potential examples. The choice is not mine to make for your life. The work is not mine to do for you. I simplify my life according to the truths I observe, the standards I set, and the priorities I pursue. No one can do it for us and we cannot do it for anyone else.
It’s on each of us to do this for ourselves.
Everything is training for something. Do the work.
