Discipline from the heart

Discipline is establishing a clear standard (or system of standards) and keeping your decisions and actions aligned with that standard.

You first learn discipline through obedience to authority and compliance with rules someone else sets: parents, teachers, coaches, authority figures.

But to mature in your discipline, you must evolve away from obedience and compliance. You must learn true discipline. Where you set your standards. You decide your rules to live by.

Discipline that comes from the heart beats obedience that comes from someone else’s rules and commands.

Event + Response = Outcome. Do the work.
