We don’t aspire to be disciplined.
We aspire to be rich. We aspire to be powerful. We aspire to be free.
We aspire to be healthy, loved, or respected. We aspire for comfort, approval, or belonging. We aspire to minimize, escape, or prevent. We aspire to advance, succeed, and win.
But we don’t aspire to be disciplined apart from our aspirations.
Discipline is not the aspiration. Discipline is the vehicle to reach our aspirations. Discipline isn’t the goal. The goal is the goal. Discipline is a tool we use to achieve our goals, whatever they are.
Brick by brick. Do the work.
