There are a lot of things I don’t know. In fact, I don’t know most things. I don’t know what you do everyday, what you’re afraid of, or what you want.
What I do know is that in a complex and competitive world, simple wins. What I do know is why, no matter what you want to achieve or avoid, simple works better than complex.
Simple starts. Complex delays.
Simple is clear. Complex is confusing.
Simple reveals the truth. Complex hides the flaws.
Simple thinks now and next. Complex thinks later and eventually.
Simple just executes and makes corrections. Complex just avoids and makes excuses.
Simple wants an opportunity to earn it. Complex needs a guarantee it will work.
Simple is faster and easier to speed up. Complex is slower and easier to break down.
Simple is easier to follow, improve, sustain, and organize. Complex is easier to ignore, stagnate, stop, and disrupt.
If you catch yourself avoiding simplicity, let that be a moment of self-awareness. Every act to avoid the simple answer is either to delay doing the work or escape facing the consequence.
