Even the pursuit of perfection is imperfect

Even if you're not a self-described "perfectionist" (I'm certainly not), we've all hesitated to move forward until we feel more prepared or polished. Maybe not in everything, but in some things. Maybe not all the time, but sometimes.

But if we step back and expand our perspective, we can see how silly it is to hold ourselves to the standard of always prepared, always polished perfection.

Those in obsessive pursuit of perfection spend all their time chasing it without actually having it. The process of the pursuit itself is imperfect. In other words, we don't even embody the standard we are pursuing as we are pursuing it.

You can imperfectly chase the impossibility of perfection or perfectly accept the permanence of imperfection. They're just two different paths that lead to the same timeless truth.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
