Discomfort is a signal, but you must understand what kind of signal it is.

Our default response to discomfort is to stop and get away from whatever is causing it. But our default response is only productive some of the time.

Think to yourself, “Is this discomfort a red, yellow, or green light?”

  • A Red Light discomfort is a signal to stop and address an issue.
  • A Yellow Light discomfort is a signal to raise your awareness and proceed with caution.
  • A Green Light discomfort is a signal to go full speed ahead.

Discomfort is a given, but is it telling you to stop, slow down, or step on the gas?

Event + Response = Outcome. Do the work.
