What does motivation do? It gets you going or keeps you going. That’s why a lack of motivation can feel like you’re lost. Starting feels pointless. Continuing feels useless.

Lacking motivation can, at times, be a deep, dark hole where you don’t just lose your way, you feel like you lose yourself. The longer you wait for that motivating feeling to get you moving, the less likely it is to show up.

When you’re not feeling motivated, it’s time to use your power of choice. The quickest and best way to overcome a lack of motivation is to engage in immediate discipline. Choose the first thing that needs to be done, make a decision, and do it.

You don’t need to feel motivated to act. Sometimes you just need to act.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.
